Dish TV India, Asia Pacific’s largest direct-to-home service provider, is coming up with a new initiative that would help it reduce content costs, generate more revenue and benefit subscribers.
The firm is planning to offer channels on a ‘request only basis’, which would allow subscribers to do away with channels they never watch.
R C Venkateish, chief executive officer, Dish TV India, said, “This is not a la carte offering but a scheme that will run on existing packs. We intend to progressively classify a number of channels as ‘on request channels’,” he said.
