The Sea Launch consortium’s Zenit-3SL rocket launch with the Eutelsat-70B satellite on board has been postponed 24 hours due to the delayed arrival of the Odyssey platform to the launch site, the company announced Nov. 27.
The rocket will now lift off at 12:44 Pacific Standard Time (20:44 GMT).
The Eutelsat-70B satellite was built by Astrium and will replace the Eutelsat-70A satellite in geostationary orbit. It aims to provide a variety of professional services, including government applications, broadband access and video exchanges in Europe, Africa and Central and South-East Asia.
Sea Launch utilizes its floating platform Odyssey at its international Pacific Ocean equatorial launch site to carry out its rocket launches.
