SET brings back fiction show ‘Parvarrish’ for a 2nd season

MUMBAI: In order to spruce up its
fiction programming, Sony
Entertainment Television (SET) is
bringing back one of its popular
fiction shows, ‘Parvarrish’, for a
second season.
The casting for the show is presently
going on, and the channel has
confirmed that TV star Sangita Ghosh
will be making her comeback on the
small screen as one of the main leads
in the show.
Ghosh will essay the role of a loving
mother to teenage children. Similar to
the first season, the show is going to
be about parent–child relationship,
and how parents try their best to cope
with the generation gap.
Once again, ‘Parvarrish’ will be
produced by DJ’s Creative Unit.
Speaking about her role, Ghosh said,
“This is my second stint with Sony
Entertainment Television and I feel
really good about it. For the first
time, my fans will see me playing the
role of a mother to teenage children
in ‘Parvarrish 2′. The production
house is known for interesting and
unique concepts, and I am glad to have
got a chance to associate with them.
The story is all about the parent–
child relationship and how being a
mother to teenage children is a
challenge for every parent. I am too
excited about it as it gives me an
opportunity to explore a different side
of me.”
The show is expected to hit the
screens by November this year, and
reports state that Gautami Kapoor
will play a parallel lead. Ghosh and
Kapoor will reprise the roles played by
Rupali Ganguly and Shweta Tiwari in
the first season.
‘Parrvarish: Kuchh Khattee Kuchh
Meethi’, featuring Shweta Tiwari,
Rupali Ganguly, Vivek Mushran and
Vishal Singh in lead roles, was well
received by the audiences and aired
from 2011 to 2013.
