SET premieres ‘Suryaputra Karn’ on Sony Liv

MUMBAI: Taking a digital-first
approach for its shows, Sony
Entertainment Television is
premiering another new launch on its
digital video entertainment platform
Sony Liv prior to its TV premiere.
The mythological show ‘Suryaputra
Karn’, which is set to go on air
tonight (29 June) at 8:30 pm on SET,
has premiered at 4 pm on Sony Liv.
The channel had earlier adopted the
same strategy for its other
mythological show ‘Sankat Mochan
Mahabali Hanuman’, which launched on
4 May. The move is in line with the
channel’s earlier announcement to
showcase more movies and original
shows on Sony Liv.
‘Suryaputra Karn’ takes viewers
through the less-discovered journey
of the mythological Karn—from being
called a ‘soot-putra’ to becoming a

show will highlight different facets of
Karn’s life, including his relationship
with his birth mother Kunti and foster
mother Radha, his dislike of the
Pandavas and unconditional loyalty
towards his friends. The show will air
from Monday to Thursday on SET.
Shot on location in Kashmir, the show
will feature action and advanced VFX.
The teams have also worked closely on
designing the jewellery and costumes
of that era.

intriguing characters of Mahabharata
and his story deserves to be told in
the most magnificent manner. The
powerhouse performances, coupled
with the mind-blowing visuals and
interesting storyline, will set the
show apart from other mythological
shows that we have seen to date. The
show also helps us in further
strengthening our programming line-
up. We are thrilled to collaborate with
Swastik Productions for the launch of
‘Suryaputra Karn’.”
Swastik Productions’ producer
Siddharth Kumar Tiwary said, “Taking
ahead our legacy of creating biggest
of mythologies on TV, this show will
depict every aspect of Karn’s life, the
journey of the making of a legend.

gone all out in presenting the series

high-quality content to the viewers.”
Aditya Redij will play the older Karn,
while Vishesh Bansal will play his
younger version.
Noted action coordinator Tinu Verma
has directed the stunts.
The other important cast members
include Mouli Ganguly as Radha and
Priya Bhatija as Kunti. Sandeep
Rajora will brighten up viewer’s lives
by playing Suryadev. Other key cast
members include Anand Suryavanshi,
Uzair, Naved Aslam, Sachin Verma,
Nimai Bali and Surendra Pal.
