Star India elevates Nikhil Madhok and Sumanta Bose to biz heads of Life OK and Jalsha

MUMBAI: Star India has elevated
Nikhil Madhok, currently Star Plus
marketing head, to the role of
business head of its second Hindi
general entertainment channel Life
The broadcaster has also named
Sumanta Bose as business head of
Jalsha cluster (Star Jalsha and Star
Jalsha Movies). He is currently
marketing head of Star’s two Bengali
“I am happy to announce important
changes at two of our key businesses,
Life OK and Jalsha. Madhok will take
on the role of business head, Life OK,
a brand that has now become a serious
contender for leadership in the Hindi
GEC space. In his new role, Nikhil and
team’s mandate will be to focus on
breakthrough innovation on both the
content and brand fronts, which will
game change the business and take
Life OK strongly towards its ambitious
goals,” Star India COO Sanjay Gupta
said in an internal communication.
Madhok has played a key role in Star
Plus’ leadership position in the last
three years. He has worked on shows
like ‘Satyamev Jayate’, ‘Mahabharat’
and ‘Ye Hai Mohhabatein’.
Meanwhile, Bose has played a
significant role in crafting and
executing the strategies that have
made both Jalsha and Jalsha Movies
successful. “Sumanta and team are
tasked with breaking their own
records and keeping the scorching
pace of growth unaltered,” Gupta

evidence of their well-honed
marketing and strategic skill sets in
their marketing roles and I am
