TDSATdirects SitiCable not to disconnect KolkataLCOs till matter closes via mediation

MUMBAI: The Telecom Disputes
Settlement & Appellate Tribunal
( TDSAT) has directed petitioner Cable
Operators Sangram Association (COSA)
of Kolkata and respondent Siti Cable
Network to resolve their dispute
through mediation.
The respondent shall not give effect
to its disconnection notices till the
matter is before the Mediation
Centre, the tribunal said.
The tribunal has directed the parties
to appear before the Mediation Centre
on 4 September.
Both parties will be represented by
persons who are in position to take
decisions on behalf of their respective
principals in course of the mediation
Since the multi-system operator
(MSO) has furnished its statement of
account in respect of the 12 local
cable operators (LCOs), the tribunal
directed the LCOs to come before the
Mediation Centre with their
respective statements of account.
The tribunal has put up the matter for
directions on 21 September in case no
settlement is arrived at by the
COSA had filed a petition on behalf of
12 LCOs challenging the disconnection
notices issued to them by the MSO.
The MSO had issued disconnection
notices based on non-payment of dues
and non-execution of the
interconnect agreement by the COSA-
affiliated LCOs.
