Times Now scales high, CNN-IBN displaces NDTV 24X7 in Week 24

MUMBAI: Times Now has seen major
growth in viewership for the second
week in a row. According to BARC data
for the week ended 19 June, the
channel posted a 35.5% gain over the
trailing week, thus solidifying its
leadership position in the general
English TV news genre.
India Today Television witnessed a
58.3% gain in viewership over the
previous week.
The only change in the pecking order
was CNN-IBN, which displaced NDTV
24X7 from the third spot for NCCS AB
male viewers over 22 years of age in
the all-India market.
Hindi news genre
The Hindi general news genre did not
see any change during the week. In
the previous week, India TV had
overtaken ABP News to claim the
second spot.
Genre leader Aaj Tak witnessed a
jump in its viewership.
India TV saw a marginal increase in
viewership, while ABP News, at the
third place, experienced a fall in the
Hindi-speaking markets (NCCS all).
Business news channels
Both the English and Hindi business
news genres did not see any change in
the pecking order.
In the English business news genre,
all three channels—CNBC-TV18, ET
Now and NDTV Profit/Prime—
registered marginal growth.
However, in the Hindi business news
genre, CNBC Awaaz saw a decline in
viewership, while Zee Business
witnessed some growth.
