According to information available

fictions series
like Bhagyalakshmi (&TV), Swaragini and Sasuraal
Simar Ka (Colors) and Saath Nibhaana
Saathiya (Star Plus).
The channel has roped in veteran
actress Aruna Irani, a popular face on
&TV, for the show’s promo, which
aired on prime time on 28 September.
The promo features Irani as a
successful superstar who has achieved
fame, luxury and wealth, but is still
seeking inner fulfillment and peace.
The promo sees her delivering the
line, “I have achieved everything in
life but not satisfaction.”
In recent years, Indian television has
seen many mythological series
dominating the prime time on Hindi
GECs. Shows like Mahabharat,
Santakmochan Mahabali Hanuman,
Devo Ke Dev Mahadev and Surya Putra

managed to grab eyeballs on the small

popularity of the genre in India, last

which airs original content in the
Indian history, folklore and
mythology space.
Santoshi Maa’s launch date on &TV
has not yet been revealed by the

  1. MUMBAI: Aiming to spruce up its
    programming, Hindi GEC &TV is
    working on a socio-mythological
    drama titled ‘Santoshi Maa’.
A fiction show will launch first to
    replace the historical property ‘Razia
Sultan’. ‘Yeh Kahaan Aa Gaye Hum’ is
a love story produced by Balaji
Telefilms. This will be the first show
from the leading TV production house
    on the channel.
According to sources, ‘Yeh Kahaan Aa
Gaye Hum’ will launch on 26 October,
airing at 9:30 pm from Monday to
    Friday. It will replace Swastik
    Productions’ historical ‘Razia
    Sultan’.
In August this year, &TV swapped the
time slots of two of its fiction
    properties, ‘Razia Sultan’ and ‘Badii
Devrani’. The shows, which aired at
7:30 pm and 9:30 pm respectively,
exchanged their slots in a bid to
    connect better with their target
    audience. While ‘Badii Devrani’ will
continue in its new slot, the curtains
will go down on ‘Razia Sultan’.
Set against a musical backdrop in
Kolkata, the love story ‘Yeh Kahaan
Aa Gaye Hum’ will see actors Saanvi
Talwar and Karan Kundra in lead roles.
Actors like Kali Babu, Papiya Sen
Gupta and Manohar Pandit will play
    other key roles.
In addition, the channel is working on
    another show in the socio-
    mythological drama genre. ‘Santoshi
Maa’ is produced by Rashmi Sharma
Telefilms and is expected to go on
    floors soon.
The channel is yet to finalise the
launch time and date for the show.
The channel has also got senior TV
actors to shoot teaser promos for the
show, first of which was launched on
    Sunday with Aruna Irani.
It is also learnt that &TV has
acquired the rights to the original
Aarti track from the film ‘Jai
    Santoshi Maa’, sung by Usha
Mangeshkar, to feature in the show
    and its promos.
