VTC switches to Vinasat 1 satellite

VTC switches to Vinasat 1 satellite

The Viet Nam Multimedia Corporation (VTC) has switched from the AsiaSat5 100.5 E
to the Viet Nam VINASAT1 satellite to better serve its customers.

With a desire to better serve VTC customers, VTC will stop AsiaSat5 satellite service on the date 10/03/2012 and boost satellite services Vinasat1 Vietnam.

To improve service quality and response to the campaign “The priority for Vietnam Vietnam” of the Party and Government, VTC service focused on satellite television VinaSat1 Vietnam

in Morning i was able to get signal on 12357 H , but then after sometime lost signal.. only 2 tps are active now on AS5 instead of 4 which were before.

  1. Guys i tried finding vinasat with 180cms dish, it was very difficult to maneuver the dish. and the other thing is the signal is coming only with monoblock KU bandLNB on 90cms dish, not with Normal KU band LNB. i couldnt understand why? I have 2 in 1 C and KU band LNB with separate output for each band for using with 180cms dish. i think i need to make a bracket modification for installing the monoblock on 180cms dish.

anyways i want to try with 130cms KU band offset dish antenna, Guys if u know any shop in Hyderabad where i can find this antenna please let me know.

    Hi MJ786 & LNB15

Guys finally I found Vinasat1 today, felt triumphant looking at the green quality bar, I owe it to u guys, MJ786 and LNB15. U guys are amazing, the Knowledge and Experience.

I did with 90cms sunHD dish. there is an offset angle for this dish around 30 degrees. so all the while i was looking at wrong elevation. Now the quality level is 40% the picture is coming like blocks. I will try with 180cms dish and update u.

    Thank U very much

You have all the reasons to be happy. Hope you get success with 6ft dish also. If possible use prime focus Ku LNB for 180cms dish 🙂

  3. Thanks for the screenshots of it 🙂 hope u can get it good signal on 180cm

  4. Some pics of menus, the signal is not stable, so i couldnt take any pics of TV transmission. once i upgrade it to 180cms dish , i will post with TV pics

I have a “VTC Digital” STB, I brought this from Ho chi minh city Vietnam with one year subscription to all channels last year, initially i used to get the signal from Asiasat5 after the switchover to Vinasat1, i couldnt trace the satellite until now.

  11. I will try for this satellite again as its little long time since i checked , and give u more details about it

  12. I think i am using the wrong elevation angle as SunHD 90cms dish is an offset angle dish. I should try again considering offset angle of the Dish. What is the offset angle for the SunHD 90cms Dish?

Did you get C band from Vinasat?
    [/quote]

I tried C band few months back with a 6 feet dish, but i couldnt get any signal, may be my setting are wrong, i am very new to this DTH thing.

which sats you had received on ur 6ft dish till now?

Again tonight i tried with 90cms dish to find Vinasat with mono block & normal LNB from 7pm till 11:30Pm, scanned the sky for about 4 hours with different configurations, i can not find the signal, can even find the telsar too. i guess I need to check the STB functionality.

i tried to find vinasat with 6feet dish few months back on c & Ku bands, but couldnt find, so u suggested me to try with 90cms dish first.

To easily get Vinasat, first try with 90cms dish along with Mono block as said by MJ. Adjust the skew between 8′ O clock and 9′ O clock position. Then move the dish to find 138 degrees Telstar. The dish will be nearly Vertical. That satellite has strong signals so easy for you to get. Try any of these frequencies: 12378 H 2222 or 12690 H 43200. Then adjust the skew for maximum quality. After that mark it.

Then move the dish little south and little high. You will get Vinasat. It will be easy if you take the TV and some FTA stb.

    Hi LNB15K & MJ
I finally got a small TV and time yesterday to find Vinasat1 , i tried with ur suggestions except for “mono block LNB”, i tried with normal LNB for about 5 hours from 5pm till 9pm. but coudnt get the signal, for both Telstar and vinasat.

My STB always shows some signal level between 0-100% even without LNB connected, so i was looking for quality. And i couldnt find any quality. or else should i use a signal meter ? will that be of any help?

I want to try with monoblock LNB today, i have 4.3 degree monoblock with single output. will there be any extra settings for it to be configured in STB? will the monoblock will be covering more area in sky?

  19. @ramkiran.. guess after lnb’s tips you must surely succeed.

  21. Firstly i am very thankful for your email 🙂 and great to find people with such good knowledge and who are ready to share

I never had a experience with a Big Dish so i took the help of DTH guys so that it will be a helping hand and they got a pocket TV too. And this guy is interested in learning new things.

I brought the receiver and LNB (universal) from VTC stores in Vetnam with a 18 months subscription in june 2011 and used to get the signals from Asisat5 using a 90cms Sundirect HD dish until 2 months back.

When the feed moved to Vinasat1 i tried to find the signals and coudnt find them. So as per LNB15K and your experiences i felt confident in finding the signal and brought a 180cms soil dish with a Combined C and Ku band LNB. Vinasat1 C band has a official presence, so i thought if not Ku i can get C band

I got the alignment angles from Lyngsat.com and other sites as Az :102.4E and Elev: 26.8 and LNB skew -68.7 (Minus). I tried to get and adjust the angles of the dish with a compass and a protractor

Yesterday i updated firmware of my receiver from VTC website hopefully its got all the setting for Vinsat1 Tps.

I will try with a monoblock LNB as per ur suggestions and i didnt understand the concept of getting 138E and moving to 108E…. as i have the azimuth as 102.4E

    Thanks and Regards
    Kiran

I never handled a big dish so i took the help of DTH guys so that i have a helping hand and they got a pocket TV too, and this guy is interested in learning new things.

I brought the HD receiver and LNB (universal) from VTC stores from Vietnam in june 2011 and i installed it with a 90cms HD sundirect dish and used to get the feed from Asiasat5 until 2 months back. i tried with sun dish in the direction of Vinasat1 and coudnt find the signals, so after consulting “LNB15K” and you, i got confident and brought a 180cms dish, and got the permission from my Apartment society too, to install a BIg Dish.

with the alignment information from lyngsat.com and other sites , I got Az:102.4E Elev: 26.8 and LNB Skew : – 68.7 ( Minus) using a compass and a protractor i tried to find and adjust the angles. Lately i tried with 180cms prime focus solid dish and combined c band and KU band (universal) LNB. c band has the official presence in india, so i thought if not Ku i can get C band.

yesterday i updated firmware of my receiver from the VTC website, hopefully its got all the setting for Vinsat1 Tps correctly installed.

As per your suggestions i will try with a monoblock LNB and i didnt understand about finding 138E first and moving towards 108E… as I have the direction as 102.4E from Lyngsat.com

  23. great news mj786

  24. yes… it was very much on 90cm dish as mentioned above also…

  25. Did u get This using 90cms dish? …… I brought a C band LNB too, i tried that too, may be some parameters r missing or wrong with my setting like LNB frequency, 20hz tone etc. Thanks for ur quick reply

    Regards
    Kiran

  26. This was what i got it that time and see the images which i posted that time in other forum where lnb15k had posted about him getting this sat.

  27. I brought a 180cms solid dish, i tried finding the signal with the help of a DTH technician, but could not find it. I tried with values friom Lyngsat.com, Alz – 102.4 Ele -26.8 and LNB slew- 68.7 at these values one side of the dish is touching the ground.

i tried with 11048H 28800 but coudnt find the signal. what might have been wrong please suggest. its a need fpr me to get this signal

  28. i guess you are asking 6ft solid dish which we use for cband ..
there is nothing specific.. have to roam few shops in koti… it was 1900 last year when one of my friend took.. so might be same or around 2k

  29. Thanks MJ786, I am feeling confident to get these signals after ur reply, And from which location did u try? is it hyderabad? can u please suggest any places where i get a 6 ft dish in hyderabad for a good price?

    Thanks & Regards
    RamKiran

  30. yes, it was last year when i got new 90cm sun HD dish i was trying for new sats.. and as lnb15k told me to try this , i tried and was able to get this 132 E tp 11048 H 28800
so if u can then try with this TP as it was bit strong so we can get on 90cm some 20% signal,if u have 6ft or so then might be more signal you can get.

  31. Hi

I am from Hyderabad, i have a VTC STB and used to get signals from Asiasat with a 90cms dish, now as VTC shifted to vinsat1, i like to receive VTC signals from Vinasat1, i have the Elevation Azimuth and LNB slew values from lynsat.com. But Hyderabad is out of vinasat1 Ku band’s footprint, Can u please suggest the dish size and other required info. i was suggested to contact u by the member “lnb15k”.

    Thanks & Regards
    RamKiran
