Zee TV reshuffles programming with 2 new shows

MUMBAI: This July, Zee TV will see
some changes in its weekday
programming line-up as two of its
shows are set to go off the air. While
one will be shifted to a new time slot,
two new shows will hit the air.
Premiering on 20 July, ‘Sarojini’ will
capture the role education plays in
making women more independent and
confident of asserting themselves in
their own households.
The show will occupy the early
primetime slot of 6:30 pm, airing from
Monday to Friday. It will replace the
ongoing show ‘Service Wali Bahu’.
Zee TV business head Pradeep Hejmadi
said, “Zee TV, as a socially
responsible broadcaster, has always
created awareness through its
content and influenced public mindsets
positively. Sarojini endeavours to
highlight how education serves as the
wind beneath a woman’s wings, giving
her the self-esteem she needs to
assert herself. Our protagonist
Sarojini will surely be a role model for
countless women across India and a
harbinger of hope and positive
The primetime offering stars Shiny
Doshi in the title role of Sarojini and
Mohit Sehgal as her husband
Somendra. Pankaj Tripathi will play
the role of the antagonist Dushyant.
The show is produced by Rashmi
Sharma Telefilms.
A week after ‘Sarojini’ goes on air,
Zee TV will launch ‘Ek Tha Raja, Ek
Thi Rani’ in the primetime slot of 9:30
pm. This will see ‘Qubool Hai’, which
presently airs in the slot, shift to
7:30 pm from 27 July. Thus, ‘Qubool
Hai’ will replace ‘Hello Pratibha’,
which goes off the air.
Touted as the channel’s magnum opus,
‘Ek Tha Raja, Ek Thi Rani’ will be a
pre-Independence-era romance and
air from Monday to Friday. It will star
Dhrashti Dhami and Siddhant Karnick in
the lead roles.
Meanwhile, Zee TV’s primetime drama
‘Qubool Hai’, which has earned a
significant following since its launch,
completes its 700th episode this
week. It is the longest-running show
currently on air on Zee TV and will
now be telecast at 7:30 pm every
weekday starting 27 July.
Hejmadi added, “’Qubool Hai’ has been
an immensely successful show at the
9:30 pm slot, one of the longest-
running shows in Zee TV’s current
line-up. The objective behind the
move is to fortify the 7:30 pm band
while we introduce an opulent period
drama, an extremely promising show
