A Sunken Ship
Produced by Rakesh Roshan and Directed by Anurag Basu, the Indo- Spanish love saga ‘Kites’ (2010) was declared a flop in Bollywood despite a strong opening week in India. Made on a budget on Rs. 60 Cr, the movie fetched an overall gross of Rs. 88 Cr.

The International version of ‘Kites’ (with subtitles) was released on 28th May, 2010; one week after the movie was release in India. In addition to this, ‘Kites’ was released in another English version, especially for the international audience. The version, titled as ‘Kites: The Remix’ was presented by Director Brett Ratner and had total length of 90 minutes, as opposed to Hindi version, which was 130 minutes long. This remix was released minus any songs, added action scenes and some available footage which was originally removed in the Hindi version which made the new version ‘more racy, more sexual’.

The film was not able to receive any success with awards either, except winning the 2011 Zee Cine Awards for the ‘Best Cinematography’.
