TRAI gets serious about DAS implementation in Chennai
NEW DELHI: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is getting serious about the implementation of digital addressable system (DAS) in Chennai. Meeting with local multi-system operators (MSOs) and broadcasters today, the broadcast sector regulator asked them to comply with the DAS guidelines.

An advertisement in local newspapers would be released tomorrow stating that DAS is compulsory and analogue signals should be blacked out.

I heard that Arasu is doing same like SCV and now threatened cable operators to either switch to them or face cable cuts. DAS is for the benefit of the channel operators so why not TRAI order free Set top boxes for it? Why should we pay for them to earn?
