MUMBAI: Hindi general entertainment
channel &TV is dabbling in newer
genres to add variety to its
programming. After doing a big-ticket
reality show with Bollywood star Shah
Rukh Khan, the channel has now roped
in Bipasha Basu for its upcoming
horror series ‘Darr Sabko Lagta Hai’.
As per sources, making her debut on
the small screen, Basu will play the
role of a narrator, and the stories
will be shown from her perspective.
The show will feature mini-films in
the horror space. The episodes will be
helmed by different directors, mostly
from the film industry.
“Each story will be treated like a film.
The series is going to be episodic,”
the source added.
Priti Sinha, one of the producers of
the show, has been quoted by a
publication as saying, “Different
directors will helm different episode.
We have around 20 of them for the
26-episode series, including Soumik
Sen, Suparn Verma and Sangeeth
Sivan, to name a few. While for most
it’s a first on television, they have a
background in films which would add to
the larger cinematic experience for
the viewer. Even the spooks are not
the kind you have seen on TV before.”
Although the channel has not finalised
the launch date of the show as the
shooting is yet to commence, media
reports state that ‘Darr Sabko Lagta
Hai’ could hit the TV screens in

gearing up for two new shows—Balaji
Telefilms’ ‘Yeh Kahaan Aa Gaye Hum’,
to be launched on 26 October, and a
socio-mythological drama titled
