What i wanted to say was that now there is no dupilcation of SD Feed on HD channel, both feeds are being managed independently hence whenever content is available in HD , it will be telecasted in 16:9 AR. Previously they were beaming the same SD Channel Feed on the HD channel but now that’s not the case

Here is the real truth. Most of the serials being shown on DD have been shot in HD format & you can confirm this by going to DD National’s YouTube channel where you will get to see all these shows in 16:9 Wide Screen Aspect Ratio.
Now you must be wondering as to why then they are not telecasting these serials in HD format on DD HD. Answer is simple due to incompetency of their staff. They have launched a HD channel but are simply broadcasting same feed (means just playing same SD Channel) on their HD channel. Telecasting the content in HD format is a long forgone thought for them because right now they are not even having seperate feeds, may be it’s easy this way for them as there is no accountability for such misdeeds. Totally irresponsible behaviour. Still remember when Star Plus HD started on Tata Sky , it was just an upscale version of SD Feed (means Star Plus SD was being shown in better picture quality) but DD has gone one step ahead & wasting our money by running a HD channel in an inefficient manner. It’s like i am having a HD STB & a LED TV but i have connected the HD STB to a CRT TV in order to enjoy HD content . What would you say if Star Movies HD starts broadcasting Star Movies SD Feed with a pillar box aspect ratio? This is just blatant cheating.

Tweeted to Honourable Minister Of State for Information & Broadcasting Shri Rajyavendra Singh Rathore & requested him to take steps so that gradually DD HD starts telecasting programs/movies in HD format.
Bcoz their 24 tp’s will be filled to capacity very soon. So they need new tp’s whether Insat 4A expires or even if it has some life left. Either they will acquire additional tp’s from a new satellite on the same orbit soon to add more channels or if they are shifting to a foreign satellite on a new orbit (which is unlikely as it would prove very costly) then they will start migration soon and book the desired number of transpoders as per the need of the hour.
I think Tata Sky hss been allocated more transponders on a new satellite & as a way to express their gratitude to the government for this, they have decided to add DD HD.
Wait n Watch, very soon we will hear news about new satellite/transponders. Also do not be surprised if Tata Sky adds all the 32 educational channels run by HRD Ministry too very soon.
