NDTV 24×7 takes second spot in English news genre in Week 33
MUMBAI: The English news genre
witnessed a shake-up in Week 33 of
BARC ratings, with NDTV 24×7
climbing the ladder to the No. 2 spot.
It had occupied the third spot in the
previous week.
India Today Television, which has been
enjoying a dream run ever since it
underwent change in brand name, was
pushed out of the top-three league as
the third position was grabbed by
Arnab Goswami-helmed Times Now,
which rules the genre, witnessed gain
in ratings.
Hindi news
In the Hindi news genre, ABP News
held on to the No. 2 slot. It had
dislodged India TV from the second
spot last week. The channel helmed by
Rajat Sharma was placed third in
terms of ratings.
However, the two channels remained
separated by a wafer-thin margin in a
genre that continues to be dominated
by Aaj Tak. The top three channels
saw some dip in ratings.
English business news
It seems status quo has become the
norm in the English and Hindi business
news categories.
In the English news genre, CNBC
TV18, ET Now and NDTV Profit/Prime
were the top three channels in that
order. CNBC TV18’s ratings saw a
marginal dip, while that of ET Now saw
a sizeable increase. NDTV Profit/
Prime too saw an increase in ratings.
Hindi business news
Leading Hindi business news channel
CNBC Awaaz saw a decrease in
ratings. Zee Business, the only other
channel in the genre, witnessed some
gain in ratings.
