OnePlus is leaving no stone unturned to create hype about its upcoming flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 2.
OnePlus CEO Liu Zuohu (aka Pete Lau) on Wednesday on Weibo teased the OnePlus 2 smartphone to his followers and asked, "How to define "full metal"?" (Google Translate)
While the Weibo post doesn't directly indicate that it is related to the OnePlus One successor, considering that Lau has been teasing the OnePlus 2 lately via his Weibo posts, it is not unreasonable to assume he was referring to the handset.
The Chinese handset manufacturer in recent weeks has been dropping hints about its next flagship in bits and until now the company has confirmed that the OnePlus 2 will feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC, USB Type-C port, and recently the company revealed that the handset will sport a fingerprint sensor.
The firm in its last post claimed that the OnePlus 2's fingerprint sensor was faster than Apple's iPhone Touch ID sensor.
OnePlus has already revealed that its second flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 2, will be launching on July 27 and the announcement will be made at a virtual reality event.
The exact price of the OnePlus 2 is yet to be announced, though the company earlier this month suggested the price of OnePlus 2 would definitely be higher than $322 (roughly Rs. 20,500) or CNY 1,999.
OnePlus India on Wednesday revealed the pricing of its recently announced Cardboard virtual reality (VR) headset for the Indian market. The OnePlus Cardboard would be available in India at Rs. 99 via Amazon India (shipping charges excluding) starting the third week of July. For global consumers, the OnePlus Cardboard will be available starting Friday and will be free for anyone but users will have to pay for the shipping charges. The company alongside also revealed a contest where 1,000 users can get an OnePlus Cardboard for free.
On Thursday, a new variant of the OnePlus 2 smartphone was leaked. Dubbed A2003, the smartphone was earlier spotted alongside another rumoured variant (A2001) on GeekBench benchmarks, featuring 4GB of RAM. The new OnePlus 2 A2003 model spotted on GeekBench was speculated to be a cheaper variant of the OnePlus 2 that might launch alongside the regular version.
