Government of India has approached ISRO’s help to block banned channels from showing in India. As per law, channels which are shown in India should have downlinking permission from the Indian government. Chinese, Russian etc.,. channels can be received from non Indian satellites and they are downlinked inside India illegally.
Many of these channels are banned in India because of their vulgar or anti Indian contents.
As it is a threat to national security the Information Broadcasting ministry has approached ISRO to make a device to control these channels from being down linked.
