DD Free Dish 76th E-auction for Vacant MPEG4 slots to be held on 11 March 2024 (tentatively) as per Prasar Bharati .

The period for which the eauction is going to be held is for channels from 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025.

 

Notice was issued from Prasar Bharati, India’s public service broadcaster, inviting applications for allotment of vacant MPEG-4 slots on the DD Free Dish DTH platform for the period from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025. The e-auction will be conducted in accordance with the E-auction Methodology for allotment of DD Free Dish slots to private TV channels, notified by Prasar Bharati on January 27, 2023 and subsequent Amendment Dated December 13, 2023, which are available on the Prasar Bharati website.

This means that DD Free Dish users will have access to more channels on the platform starting from April 1, 2024. The new channels will be a mix of genres and languages, and will be available at a reserve price of Rs. 50,00,000 per annum.

To participate in the e-auction, broadcasters must be licensed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) and have a valid permission from the Ministry. International public broadcasters licensed by the Ministry of I&B can also participate.

The bidding process will be open to all genres and language channels. Broadcasters will be required to provide a clear and unambiguous classification of their channel. The channel must also contain content predominantly of the genre and language declared at the time of the e-auction application.
